Origin: All the grapes come from a single plot of 0.55 ha, 67 years. Planted with slight slope. With a planting of 1,2×2,8m. Average production of 8000kg / ha.

Viticulture: Following the concepts of organic viticulture (in process of conversion) was not till the vines, only cases credited much needed fertilizers and organic origin, no pesticides or herbicides are used. During the summer the work carried out in green, where green shoots that do not interest us are removed, the coppicing is deleted and a bare light if the order it is added.

Winemaking: After stringent controls maturation proceed to manual vintage in boxes of 10kg. Selection of grapes in the vineyard to our collectors. Before the arrival of the grapes at the winery, passed 24-48 hours in a cold room, to cool the grapes at 5-6 º C. Then it is stemming, crushing and maceration in stainless steel tanks, where it will maceration cold 12 hours. Subsequently press a 48h static racking is cold and passed within 300 liter boot which will ferment with natural, indigenous yeasts from the vineyard. The wine is very lightly filtered and bottled.

Aging: Add as 5-6 months on its lees, conducting regular battonages.

History

Esteve i Gibert Viticultors, like many others in the Penedès is a story of generations of growing grapes of families engaged in grape production.

The 2,009, this story takes a step forward. Josep Esteve proposing to his daughter, Laura, and his son, the young winemaker Albert Lopez came back to do the most, as he had formerly done. The smallest winery in the D.O. born

The family farm has 19 ha of vineyards on the shady slopes of the Ordal, which are worked organically. But in these early days, only a small part, the selection of the best vineyards, is designed to develop their fine wines. The rest, as we have always done, is still sold to other wineries, pending further expand year by year, the production itself.

Thus, we find a winery that is based on respect, passion for nature, know-how and tradition 3 generations of winemakers, and complements it with modern interpretation Albert makes his environment, terrain, climate , the landscape … of “view” of the estate.
